Here's how it works . . .
Job postings must be received by the 15th of each month to be included in the next blast email announcement. All job listings will be sent (via email blast) on the next business day following the 15th. Jobs will be listed in the email blast according to alphabetical order. Listings received after close of business on the 15th will be sent on the next following month.
The cost for this service will be $50. An invoice for this amount will be sent by the NCGPC office to the appointed contact name or the contact name listed on the announcement. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Payments can be made by check and/or credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). This fee will apply each time a job posting is requested.
Your announcement must include a brief description of the job listing and any pertinent contact information regarding the listing. A link back to your organization's website and/or contact email address can be placed next to your job announcement. Assistant Director, Gift Planning

Assistant Director, Gift Planning
1) Identification and Cultivation of Gift Planning prospects and donors:
a) Develops portfolio of qualified gift planning prospects identified through their attendance at gift planning stewardship and outreach events, discovery calls, etc.
b) Cultivates and moves prospects to become donors.
c) Creates relationships with members of The Guardian Society for stewardship and cultivation of other gifts.
2) Strategic lead for stewardship and outreach programs for gift planning prospects, donors, and professional advisors:
a) Designs and oversees strategic programs for outreach and stewardship of gift planning prospects, donors, and professional advisors.
b) Manages interface with Stewardship team and speakers.
c) Oversees preparation of event/program briefings and talking points; arranges and manages rehearsals.
d) Oversees preparation of Powerpoint and other presentation materials used in various programs.
3) Oversees administration of bequests and trusts that benefit Children's Hospital Foundation.
a) Communicates with executors, trust officers, attorneys to ensure timely distributions from trust and estate gifts.
b) Maintains proper records and documentation related thereto.
c) Engage and manage outside counsel when needed for estate or trust litigation.
Bachelor’s degree
At least three years experience in fund development with substantial exposure to major gift fundraising and/or gift planning arrangements, donor cultivation and stewardship (event planning preferred).

Director of Gift Planning
Summary
Assist the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the President, and other advancement staff in the leadership and strategic direction for a comprehensive gift planning program in support of Emory & Henry College's mission. Primary program activities will include initiating and closing planned gifts and major gifts with donors while creating a gift planning presence with the broader Emory & Henry College community. Manage a portfolio of prospects for identification, cultivation and solicitation of major gifts to Emory & Henry College. This involves meeting with donors and their professional advisors to discuss giving opportunities involving bequests, gift annuities, and trust arrangements. Solicit and close planned and major gifts by responding to inquiries and completing all necessary details to ensure proper planned gift closure and administration. Prepare proposals and illustrations of life income and estate gift arrangements; understand technical aspects of gift planning and work in partnership with other gift officers and college staff as needed. Demonstrate willingness to learn the gift planning profession and to grow as a gift planning professional. Be willing to travel extensively - regionally and nationally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Fund Raising
- Develop pipeline of prospects to support Emory & Henry College through planned gifts and outright major gifts.
- Establish and meet annual goals for personal visits, major gift solicitation, and planned giving inventory.
- Initiate relationships with donors and their professional advisors to facilitate gift planning.
Management
- Develop and execute an annual operating plan to reach annual financial goals and longer-term programmatic goals.
- Participate actively in campaign activities and goals.
Leadership
- Establish a professional advisor network to serve as gift planning resource to Office of Institutional Advancement.
- Become actively engaged with gift and/or estate planning community, regionally and nationwide.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Execute selected segmented marketing mailings/campaigns to gift planning prospects.
- Utilize effectively and strengthen Society of 1836 membership.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of gift planning correspondence, publications, stewardship, and website.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; additional financial planning or advising education/certification is a plus.
- Minimum of four years experience in fundraising, preferably within a college or university setting
- Knowledge of major and planned giving best practices, and proven track record in successfully securing high-end gifts
- Familiarity with current tax laws concerning planned gifts
- Team orientation to problem solving and achieving goals and objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully perform in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage budgets and meet time lines.
- Ability to creatively use staff and volunteers to complete projects in an accurate and timely manner.
- Strong understanding and application of computer technology to efficiently accomplish work, using Microsoft Office programs, email, Internet, database management software.
- Availability to travel extensively and work evening hours as needed.
